K/D ratio: calculate the number without losing the context

K/D ratio is kills divided by deaths. Twenty-four kills and twelve deaths give 2.00 K/D. With zero deaths the ratio has no finite value; it is not automatically 100. K/D alone does not measure objective work, opponent strength or whether a duel’s shots were accurate.

Kills divided by deaths. Zero deaths has no finite ratio; this calculator does not invent one.

2.00 K/D

StatisticExample calculationWhat it answers
K/D24 kills ÷ 12 deaths = 2.00Kills relative to deaths
Hit rate18 hits ÷ 30 shots = 60%How many shots connected
Headshot share of kills8 headshot kills ÷ 20 kills = 40%Which kills ended as headshots
Head-hit share of hits6 head hits ÷ 18 hits = 33.3%Where connecting bullets landed

These are worked examples. The last two percentages are not interchangeable even when a UI labels both “HS%.”

Compare similar samples

Record mode, map, role and opponent level alongside the result. A player farming easy respawns and a player taking difficult objective entries have different opportunities. A few duels create a volatile ratio; always keep the sample size.

CS2 ranks and FACEIT Elo concern match-rating systems. Neither is calculated by this simple ratio widget.

Use a statistic to choose a drill

Repeated first-shot misses suggest aim practice. Good opening hits followed by missed sprays suggest recoil work. High damage with lost rounds may instead point to exposure, reload timing or cover decisions.

Do not chase K/D by avoiding the objective. Review the specific action that cost the round before adjusting sensitivity or promising a rank increase.

Reading PvPStrike recaps

PvPStrike's winner recap shows round hits, shots and damage. Hit rate is hits divided by shots; damage uses the game’s armor and hit-zone rules shown below. Those are per-round facts, not a verified lifetime aim score.

See 1v1 strategy and the FPS topic for applying the numbers.

PvPStrike's actual rifle tuning

Generated from the current game's damage and recoil functions. These are PvPStrike values, not Valve's CS2 weapon statistics. Assumes 100 health and a fresh vest; no damage through cover.

Recoil sequence reset after a three-shot burst: 280 ms. After a long spray: 650 ms. Releasing fire does not immediately erase recoil; both the Police M4A1-S and Terrorist AK-47 remain automatic when held and use the same damage values.

Mixed hit locations and depleted armor change the result. Use the winner recap to compare hits and damage, not a promised win rate.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Divide kills by deaths, provided deaths are greater than zero.

There is no finite ratio. Report the raw counts, such as 12 kills and zero deaths, rather than inventing a cap.

It depends on mode, role, opponents and sample size. A universal target can mislead.

No. Hit rate uses shots; headshot statistics can use kills or hits. Read the exact definition.
