Pick 4 lottery straight and box prizes on Pennsylvania's own chart

Pick 4 lottery in Pennsylvania is a four-digit draw at 50 cents or $1. A $1 straight pays $5,000 in exact order, at 1 in 10,000. A $1 box pays $200 to $1,200 based on the digit pattern. Straight/box is only 50 cents. These dollars are not the three-digit table. This is not a system.

Four digits is its own contract

How pick 4 lottery works in Pennsylvania starts with four digits, not three. There are 10,000 outcomes from 0-0-0-0 through 9-9-9-9. That count is why a straight chance is 1 in 10,000.

You pick the digits or take a Quick Pick. The prizes page says quick-pick numbers play straight unless you specify another type of bet.

If you wanted a box, say so. Silence buys the exact-order prize.

You then choose day, evening, or both, and you may buy up to seven drawings ahead. The price is 50 cents or $1 per play. Wild Ball doubles that price.

The game guide cuts day sales at 1:05 pm and evening sales at 6:57 pm. Day results are shown after 1:35 pm.

The evening drawing is at 6:59 pm. Those times match the three-digit game's clock and do not match its prizes.

The three-digit pay table is a different article, the three-digit Pennsylvania chart. Do not copy its $500 straight onto this game. The hub for both is the lottery topic hub.

Pick 4 lottery payout rows, including four kinds of box

The pick 4 lottery payout for a $1 straight is $5,000. A 50-cent straight pays $2,500. Both list the same chance, 1 in 10,000, because the stake changes the prize, not the number of winning orders.

A box wins on any order, and the prize follows the shape of the number. Four shapes are on the page. They are not one shared box prize.

The page's examples are 1-2-3-4 for four distinct digits, 1-1-2-3 for a pair, 1-1-2-2 for two pairs, and 1-1-1-2 for three of a kind. Match your number to one of those shapes before you trust a prize.

Straight/box rows list two prize figures and do not add them. A $1 straight/box is not on the chart.

Count the orders before you read the prize

Four distinct digits can finish in 24 orders. The $1 box prize for that shape is $200, at 1 in 416.67. That is the widest box and the smallest box prize on this chart.

One pair plus two different digits can finish in 12 orders. The $1 prize is $400, at 1 in 833.33.

Two different pairs can finish in 6 orders. The $1 prize is $800, at 1 in 1,667.

Three of a kind plus one other digit can finish in 4 orders. The $1 prize is $1,200, at 1 in 2,500.

The straight remains one order and $5,000 at $1. A pick 4 lottery payout of $500 would be the wrong game. This chart's straight is $5,000 at 1 in 10,000.

A number such as 7-7-7-7 is four of a kind. The box rows opened here are the four shapes above.

A four-of-a-kind box prize is not published on the rows quoted in this article. Ask the terminal if you intend to play 7-7-7-7 as a box.

The national chart with a red ball is a different product, covered on the match-count prize table. It does not use these four box shapes.

Straight/box stays at fifty cents

Pennsylvania marks straight/box as a straight play combined with a box play, and it limits that combination to 50 cents. The $1 column is a dash on every straight/box row.

For four distinct digits, the 50-cent row lists $2,500 on the straight line and $100 on the box line. Chances are 1 in 10,000 and 1 in 416.67.

The pair shape lists $2,500 and $200. Two pairs list $2,500 and $400.

Three of a kind plus one other digit lists $2,500 and $600.

The example for 1-2-3-4 shows an exact drawing and an any-order drawing on one row. This article does not add $2,500 and $100 into $2,600. The chart never prints that sum.

Super straight appears in the game guide's family of play types for the pick games. On the PICK 4 prizes page opened for the table above, the rows used here are straight, box, and straight/box. If the terminal offers another name, the price on the screen beats a memory of this paragraph.

Other states print different four-digit tables. A $5,000 straight is Pennsylvania's $1 figure. It is not a national mandate.

Three dollar examples that stay off the three-digit table

Example 1. A $1 straight on 3-0-5-8.

If the drawing is 3-0-5-8 in that order, the chart pays $5,000. The chance is 1 in 10,000.

If the drawing is 3-0-8-5, the straight pays nothing. The prize is not $500.

That $500 figure belongs to a different game's $1 straight.

Example 2. A $1 box on 3-0-5-8.

All four digits differ, so the prize is $200 in any order, at 1 in 416.67. A $1 box on 3-3-0-5 is the 12-way shape and pays $400, at 1 in 833.33.

A $1 box on 3-3-0-0 is the 6-way shape and pays $800. A $1 box on 3-3-3-0 is the 4-way shape and pays $1,200.

Example 3. A 50-cent straight/box on 3-0-5-8 lists $2,500 and $100.

It does not list a $1 version. Two $50 Coinflip stakes on this site make a $100 pot, a $5 fee, and $95 to the winner.

The $95 settles from the pot. It is not a four-digit prize.

Read the shape, then the price

The digit pattern chooses the box row. Guessing from a three-digit memory chooses the wrong row.

Wild Ball, taxes, and who should not buy

Wild Ball on a $1 play prints a separate prize. A straight shows a $5,000 base prize and a $1,500 wild-ball prize, at a wild-ball chance of 1 in 2,500.

The 4-way box shows $1,200 base and $390 wild, at 1 in 625. The 6-way shows $800 and $260, at 1 in 417.

The 12-way shows $400 and $130, at 1 in 208. The 24-way shows $200 and $60, at 1 in 104.

The footnote says a 50-cent play cuts those prizes in half. The columns stay separate. This page does not add the base prize to the wild-ball prize.

IRS Topic 419 taxes lottery winnings, with or without a Form W-2G. The prizes page does not print a withholding rate. How lottery prizes are taxed and what a gambling win goes on are the filing explainers.

The chart does not print a minimum age. That age is the state's rule, and the number is not published here.

Anyone under it should not play. Anyone chasing the last miss should not play.

How a matrix is counted is the general method. Four digits still produce 10,000 straight outcomes whether or not you have a theory about hot numbers.

A posted prize beside a posted fee

Pennsylvania tells you the straight prize before the drawing. The peer games here tell you the fee before the round. Neither one is a forecast of the next result.

Jackpot with four $50 entries is a $200 pot, a $10 fee, and $190 to the winner. Roulette pays 2x on 16 Purple and 16 Silver, and 14x on one Green, out of 33 slots, then takes 5% off the winning payout.

After the fee, Purple and Silver are about a 7.88% edge. P2P Slot takes 10% of a winning pot.

Settlement checks live on fairness. We did not buy a PICK 4 ticket or clock a Pennsylvania claim.

This site is not the lottery. Cash-out minimum here is $20 in BTC, USDC, or ETH.

Pick 4 lottery odds of 1 in 10,000 describe one exact order. They do not describe a box, and they do not describe a coin.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

A $1 straight on Pennsylvania PICK 4 pays $5,000 if the four digits match in exact order. The chance printed on that row is 1 in 10,000. A $500 straight is the $1 prize on Pennsylvania's three-digit chart, which is a different game with 1,000 outcomes. Using that $500 figure here understates the printed prize and overstates the chance. A 50-cent PICK 4 straight pays $2,500, at the same 1 in 10,000.

Those four digits are all different, so the box is the 24-way row. A $1 play pays $200 at 1 in 416.67. A 50-cent play pays $100. The $1,200 box is only the shape with three digits the same and one different, such as 1-1-1-2. Two pairs, such as 1-1-2-2, pay $800 at $1. A pair plus two other digits, such as 1-1-2-3, pays $400 at $1.

The Pennsylvania chart marks straight/box as available only at 50 cents per play. Every straight/box row shows a dash under the $1 prize. The 50-cent row lists a straight prize and a box prize separately, for example $2,500 and $100 on four distinct digits. The page does not print those two numbers as one sum. If you want a $1 stake, the chart's offered types are straight and box.

The PICK 4 prizes page says quick-pick numbers are played straight unless you specify another type of bet. A straight needs the exact order and, at $1, pays $5,000 at 1 in 10,000. If you wanted any order, you have to name the box. The computer's digits do not switch the play type by themselves. Check the ticket before you leave the counter or close the app.

These box amounts are Pennsylvania's, opened on 20 October 2026. Other states print different pay tables for their four-digit games, and some use a different product name. The count of exact orders is 10,000 when each digit runs from 0 through 9. The prize for covering those orders is a choice each lottery publishes on its own chart. Use the chart that matches the ticket in your hand.

The wild-ball table prints a base-game prize and a wild-ball prize in separate columns. On a $1 straight those figures are $5,000 and $1,500, and the wild-ball chance is 1 in 2,500. A 50-cent play cuts the printed prizes in half. Adding the two columns together is not an instruction on the page. The add-on also doubles the cost of the play, so a $1 base game with Wild Ball costs $2.
