Powerball payout chart by match, with every Power Play column

The Powerball payout chart lists nine prizes for a $2 play. Five white balls plus the Powerball is the jackpot, at 1 in 292,201,338.00. Five white balls alone pay $1 million, and Power Play makes that row $2 million. Other rows are set cash, except in California, where prizes are pari-mutuel. Power Play is an extra $1.

Nine cash rows, one matrix, and a California exception

How powerball payout chart works is a match count. Five white numbers come from 1 through 69.

One red Powerball comes from 1 through 26. You can match the white numbers in any order.

You cannot combine numbers across plays. The media center says a ticket is $2.

UK sales began 21 July 2026.

Jackpot winners may take an annuity of 30 graduated payments over 29 years, or a lump sum. The chart does not print one standing lump-sum dollar.

The jackpot starts at $20 million. In California, prize amounts are pari-mutuel and depend on sales and the number of winners.

The set dollars below are the chart's amounts outside that rule. California's own dollars are not published on the national chart.

Powerball payout chart odds next to the set prizes

Powerball payout chart odds below are the figures on the prize chart, paired with the match labels on the 19 October 2026 drawing report. That report's base prizes line up with this chart's prize column: $1,000,000, $50,000, $100, $100, $7, $7, $4, and $4, under the grand prize.

The chart says lower-tier prizes are set cash. The grand prize stays the grand prize in every Power Play column.

The 3x and 4x columns sit on the same page. For the $50,000 row they are $150,000 and $200,000.

For a $100 row they are $300 and $400. For a $7 row they are $21 and $28.

For a $4 row they are $12 and $16. Match 5 stays $2 million in those columns too.

Overall odds of a prize are 1 in 24.87. The chart says that figure is for a $2 play, rounded to two decimal places.

Where the multiplier is real, and where the cell is capped

The media center says Power Play costs an extra $1 a play and multiplies non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4, 5, or 10. The Match 5 prize with Power Play is always $2 million. A 3x, 5x, or 10x draw does not turn $1 million into $3 million, $5 million, or $10 million.

The $50,000, $100, $7, and $4 rows scale with the multiplier. Match 5 does not.

The jackpot column stays "Grand Prize" at every multiplier. Power Play does not multiply the annuity.

Ten times is in play only when the advertised jackpot is $150 million or less. Above that advertised annuity, the chart's second Power Play table drops 10x and uses a denominator of 42 instead of 43.

When 10x is available, the chart's odds are 1 in 43 for 10x, 2 in 43 for 5x, 3 in 43 for 4x, 13 in 43 for 3x, and 24 in 43 for 2x. When 10x is not available, the odds are 2 in 42 for 5x, 3 in 42 for 4x, 13 in 42 for 3x, and 24 in 42 for 2x.

Double Play is a separate add-on at an extra $1. The media center gives it a $10 million top cash prize and eight more cash prizes, drawn after Powerball in participating jurisdictions.

Power Play does not apply to Double Play. The Double Play tier dollars are not reprinted in this table.

The life-annuity game with a different matrix is the weekly rules-table prize. A notice that asks you to pay a fee before a jackpot arrives is the subject of fake prize notices.

Three tickets, including one drawing report

Example 1. A $2 play matches only the red ball.

The chart pays $4, at 1 in 38.32. Add Power Play for the extra $1 the media center states, and a 2x result shows $8 on that row.

A 10x result shows $40, and only when 10x is in play.

The powerball payout chart payout for that row is $4 before any multiplier. It is not the jackpot.

Example 2. Five white balls and a wrong Powerball.

The base prize is $1 million, at 1 in 11,688,053.52. Every Power Play column on that row shows $2 million.

The extra dollar bought the move from $1 million to $2 million. It did not buy a 10x of the jackpot.

Example 3. The 19 October 2026 report shows Power Play at 4x.

Its Power Play prize for 4 of 5 plus the Powerball is $200,000, which is 4 times $50,000. The estimated grand prize that night was $610,600,000, with a cash value of $257,200,000 and an annuity factor of 2.374.

The next drawing's estimate, for 21 October 2026, was $635,000,000 annuity and $267,500,000 cash. Those cash figures belong to that report.

They are not a permanent cell on the chart. Because the advertised jackpot was far above $150 million, 10x was not the multiplier in use.

What the 19 October report proves about the rows

The 19 October 2026 report names the rows in chart order: grand prize for 5 of 5 plus the Powerball, $1,000,000 for 5 of 5, $50,000 for 4 of 5 plus the Powerball, then the $100, $7, and $4 rows. One Michigan ticket won $1,000,000. There was no jackpot winner.

Power Play that night was 4x, so the report shows $200,000 on 4 of 5 plus the Powerball and $16 on the $4 rows. Party lotteries pay those amounts under MUSL rules.

A bigger jackpot changes the advertised top prize. It does not change 1 in 292,201,338.00. The media center rounds that chance as 1 in 292.2 million and the overall chance as 1 in 24.9.

White-ball order does not matter, and separate plays cannot be combined. Use the powerball payout chart for the standing dollars, and the report for that night's cash value.

Before you treat a screenshot as the chart

The chart is the standing table. A drawing report is one night's advertised jackpot and one multiplier.

  • [ ] Price the base play at $2, and Power Play at an extra $1 if you add it.
  • [ ] Use 1 in 292,201,338.00 only for five white balls plus the Powerball.
  • [ ] Keep the jackpot as the grand prize in every Power Play column.
  • [ ] Pay Match 5 with Power Play at $2 million, not at 3, 4, 5, or 10 times $1 million.
  • [ ] Multiply $50,000, $100, $7, and $4 only when that row's column actually scales.
  • [ ] Use 10x only when the advertised jackpot is $150 million or less.
  • [ ] Treat California prizes as pari-mutuel. The set dollars are not that state's chart.
  • [ ] Leave the standing lump-sum jackpot dollar as not published. Read that drawing's cash value.
  • [ ] Leave Double Play's lower-tier dollars off this table.
  • [ ] Confirm drawings at 10:59 pm ET on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
  • [ ] Ignore a message that asks for a fee before the lottery will release a prize.

Taxes on a real ticket, and who should not buy

The media center says both the annuity and the lump sum are before applicable federal and jurisdictional taxes. IRS Topic 419 says lottery winnings are fully taxable and must be reported even without a Form W-2G.

A payer issues that form in the cases the instructions name. This chart does not print a withholding percent.

How lottery prizes are taxed and what a win is entered as cover the return. A person who demands the tax by gift card before you have a ticket is not that process.

Minimum age is not published on the chart or the media center. Anyone under the selling state's age should not play.

The rows do not remember your last ticket. Ten plays are ten times $2, each facing the same odds.

They are not a blended ticket with a better top-row chance. Anyone chasing a loss, and anyone who cannot keep a stop, should not play.

A posted grid beside a posted pot fee

The chart tells you the set prizes before the drawing, and it tells you the jackpot is advertised until it is won. A peer round tells you the fee before anyone wins.

Coinflip and Jackpot take 5% of the pot. Four $50 Jackpot entries make a $200 pot, a $10 fee, and $190 to the winner.

Roulette has 33 slots, with 16 Purple and 16 Silver paying 2x and one Green paying 14x. Five percent comes off a winning payout, and Purple or Silver is about a 7.88% edge after that fee.

P2P Slot takes 10% of a winning pot.

A settled round can be checked on fairness. We did not buy a Powerball ticket or time a claim.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The prize chart leaves the jackpot as the grand prize in the 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, and 10x columns. Power Play does not multiply that annuity. The Match 5 prize, five white balls without the Powerball, is $1 million on the base chart and $2 million in every Power Play column. It does not become $10 million when 10x is drawn.

The chart says the 10x multiplier is only in play when the advertised jackpot is $150 million or less. The media center says the same thing about the advertised jackpot annuity. Above that level, the Power Play odds table uses 42 as the denominator and starts at 5x. On 19 October 2026 the report showed a 4x multiplier beside an estimated grand prize of $610,600,000, which is above the $150 million line.

The chart's last row pays $4 at 1 in 38.32 for the Powerball with no matching white balls. Power Play shows $8, $12, $16, $20, and $40 across 2x through 10x. The 19 October 2026 report labels that row 0 of 5 plus the Powerball and shows a 4x prize of $16. You still need the extra $1 if you want the multiplier column. The base $2 ticket stays on the $4 cell.

The prize chart says California prize amounts are pari-mutuel and are set by sales and the number of winners. The $1 million, $50,000, $100, $7, and $4 figures are the set cash amounts for the chart's other jurisdictions. California's dollar rows are not published on that national grid. The jackpot odds line, 1 in 292,201,338.00, is the matrix odds the chart prints for a $2 play. Confirm a California ticket with the California Lottery.

The chart says jackpot winners may choose 30 graduated payments over 29 years or a lump sum. It does not print one lump-sum dollar that applies to every drawing. The 19 October 2026 report printed a cash value of $257,200,000 against an estimated annuity of $610,600,000, with annuity factor 2.374. The next estimate on that report was $267,500,000 cash against $635,000,000. Use the report for the drawing you mean.

Each play is judged on its own. The Powerball FAQ says you cannot crisscross lines or combine numbers from separate plays. White balls on a single play may match in any order, and the ticket already prints them in numerical order. The red number on that play has to match the red ball drawn. The highest match on that play is the prize you are paid.
